Calculating Your Birth Card Pair

This introduces a simple numerological formula, which identifies 2 or sometimes 3 cards which are connected to your birth date, and the meaning of your life in general. Of course you could argue it's all in the energy, so how much you read into it - or not - would depend on you, as this is only intented as a bit of fun. So enter your date of birth and calculate your card.

The Formula
19* + yy + dd + mm
*this is the first two digits of the year. So use 20 for anyone born from 2000 on upwards.

Worked Example

For Example the date 03/06/1977 becomes 19 + 77 + 3 + 6 = 105
105 = 15 which is The Devil
while 1 + 5 = 6 which represents The Lovers

Calculating the Quintessence of a Spread

This formula is also used in calculating the quintessence of a tarot spread. Used in some tarot spreads to guide a reader, by giving extra information about what to do. in which case instead of adding up the birth dates, we count up the values on the cards turned over to derive the meaning instead.

In this method court cards are valued at zero, aces are 1s, and the minor and major arcane at what ever their numerical values are. The cards are summed up and reduced down, much the same as birth cards are.
